June 2023 Events Recap

June 14: Dr. Leslie Jones (Executive Director) was one of four honorees at the VISIONS Manhattan Advisory Board’s Award Reception. The event was held at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and proceeds from the event went to support VISIONS Free Programs in Manhattan. Every year VISIONS chooses to honor a person and/or organization who/which has made a significant contribution towards furthering the mission of VISIONS which is to “assist people who are blind and visually impaired of all ages to lead independent and active lives, and to educate the public to understand their capabilities and needs.”

June 25: For the second year running The Filomen M. D’Agostino Greenberg Music School kicked off the Achilles Hope & Possibility 4M Presented by TD Bank.  The annual run in Central Park is an inclusive event that welcomes athletes of all abilities.  This year it attracted thousands of runners including current FMDG Music School adult students. Jillian Raquet, represented the music school with a solo vocal performance of the Star-Spangled Banner.
